Things To Do While Not Watching OU in the NCAA Tourney

Posted by NateHeupel on March 15th, 2010 under Basketball

1) Fill out a bracket whilst weeping softly and saying "Damn you for leaving us, Sampson" to no one in particular

2) Recover a small bit of joy at pegging UT for a first round exit after you realize that this is a realistic possibility

3) Rewatch the Sun Bowl

4) Post overlong diatribes needling Huckleberry to come out of his slumber to debate the merits of Google and logic. 5) Follow football recruiting with

The Muschamp Rule Suspended For a Year

Posted by NateHeupel on March 9th, 2010 under Football

WWL writeup found here UT fan can breathe a deep sigh of relief as the NCAA put a one year hold on what has to be the most hilariously asinine rule proposed by the NCAA in the last 3 months. Yes, I chose that time frame on purpose. The "coach in waiting" rule that treats a head coach designate just like a head coach would've severely limited Muschamp's ability to recruit this spring. Report: Sooners Hire Willie Martinez to Coach DB’s

Posted by NateHeupel on February 1st, 2010 under Football

Link here There's a twist I didn't see coming.  I figured Jeffcoat Sr was the target, but there had been rumblings that the Sooners were going to slide Bobby Jack Wright down to coach DE's, and they would then fill his spot with a DB's coach who actually improved his DB's.  It appears the Sooners have done just that by hiring former Georgia DC Willie Martinez. Martinez reminds me a lot of UT's Duane Akina.  Akina is an

Did We Really Just Get Spanked By Nebraska?

Posted by NateHeupel on January 30th, 2010 under Basketball

My God.  I am legitimately terrified of what teams like KU and Texas are going to do us.  The carnage will be biblical. And don't point to the fact that Baylor beat UT in Austin today.  Trips' coverage of the game makes it sound like even we could beat them if the timing was right. Let me assure you that such is not the case. Simply put, this isn't a team that plays good defense,

This was a horribly gay title. I'll admit that up front. I feel like I work for ESPN or something.

How McCoy lost the Heisman (and not because of an interception)

Posted by NorthDallasSooner on December 14th, 2009 under Football

I’ve been debating myself on what to write about the Heisman outcome. I thought McCoy was going to win, but mostly as a “lifetime achievement award” type of thing.

Does playing in a bowl game REALLY matter THIS year?

Posted by NorthDallasSooner on November 22nd, 2009 under Football

Of course you want to play in a bowl game. It’s important. It’s on national TV. It’s a chance to finish a season “the right way.” Jesus, NDS, you are one rationalizing SOB!!!! Lemme be completely f-ing transparent.
