Metoyer Commits to OU and a Brief Commentary on Life

Posted by NateHeupel on March 12th, 2010 under Football

In these dark and desperate times, sometimes a little good news goes a long way. For example, my wife just had our first child, we haven't had sex in 5 weeks, and I just discovered that the two issues are entirely unrelated. Essentially, my existence is a combination of the worst parts of "GOB" Bluth and Michael Bluth. Where was I? Oh yeah, Trey Metoyer committed to OU. You can never

The Muschamp Rule Suspended For a Year

Posted by NateHeupel on March 9th, 2010 under Football

WWL writeup found here UT fan can breathe a deep sigh of relief as the NCAA put a one year hold on what has to be the most hilariously asinine rule proposed by the NCAA in the last 3 months. Yes, I chose that time frame on purpose. The "coach in waiting" rule that treats a head coach designate just like a head coach would've severely limited Muschamp's ability to recruit this spring. However,

Back in the Saddle: Spring Football

Posted by NateHeupel on March 8th, 2010 under Football

After a painfully long basketball season filled with shame, agony, and suffering (and that's just my life at home) where the only glimmers of hope are from the gymnastics and wrestling teams, spring football is finally upon us.

Metoyer Favoring OU

Posted by NateHeupel on February 12th, 2010 under Football

Good news already for 2011 recruiting before UT locks up the bulk of Texas talent over their next two Junior Days. Link to Scout Article Metoyer is reportedly visiting UT for their first Junior Day tomorrow, so we'll see if he holds out. I think he will, and he'd be a huge get. Scipio has described him as "Baby Crabtree". Word.

Surfing The Interwebs

Posted by NateHeupel on February 12th, 2010 under Basketball

It's a lazy Friday, and we're snowed in here in the DFW.  Texas meteorologists were calling for 4 inches of snow at the most, so clearly we were going to end up with around 8.  I really wish they would stop pretending to put in effort and just put on a hot chick with big tits. Anyway, this gives me time to browse the interwebs and update my faithful readers (all seven

This time of year there’s a lot of teeth gnashing and hand wringing when a top team struggles or gets upset in conference tournament play. Keep in mind that are very good reasons for this all to common “phenomenon”. And it’s not because these great teams suddenly stink.

    The fact of the

I could not agree more about the subject. You have to make the pass go somewhere else than the offense wants. If you can’t stop that, you have to change the angle of the pass. Anything to throw them off.

I said after Laettner’s shot and pretty much ever since, that guarding the inbounder should be

No worries whatsoever. Teams like kansas, duke, WVU, and Cuse have all struggled in the conference tourney. I think the close win is actually going to help OSU.
