Rivals is reporting that 4* DE Geneo Grissom from Hutchinson, KS has switched his commit from KU to OU. If accurate, I think you can safely presume that Stoops and Co. have given up on landing Jackson Jeffcoat. That’s where this gets interesting. If Jim Jeffcoat is at the top of Stoops’ wish list for the d-ends coach position, then filling Jackson Jeffcoat’s spot and letting the young man do what it seems clear he wants to do (that being commit to UT) might let Jim Jeffcoat do what he wanted to do a few years ago and take the OU job. This is the purest of pure speculation. The only way this could come any further out of my ass is if NorthDallasSooner’s proctologist (on D Magazine’s list of Top Dallas Doctors!) went three fingers deep for it. I don’t feel like having a HenryJames massage, so I’ll pass.

Moving along, there was a possible hold up with Kenny Stills and Tony Jefferson enrolling on time, but it appears to have been an NCAA misunderstanding of their San Diego curriculum as both have been cleared and are on campus with the team now. From what I’ve heard, it had something to do with when their classes ended in the fall being out of the expected schedule. Not sure what the hell that means.

Bronson Irwin, Sheldon McClain, and Austin Woods are also on campus. Irwin and Woods have obviously figured out from OU giving Tyler Evans so much early playing time as a true freshman that we have no reservations filling OL spots with whoever’s the best. Irwin is getting a lot of hype as the guy with the best shot to contribute immediately on the OL. McClain’s ACL injury would benefit from having a D1 sports medicine program running the rehab.
